Agencies and officials showed support for programs serving young children during the Week of the Young Child April 6-12. Gathering to commemorate $83,000 worth of grants for programs in this area are, front row from left, Betsy Curlee, Millie Chastain, Nettie Goodwin, Kay Jennings and Amy Hurst; second row, Steve Hurst, Amber Uptain, Deborah Dye, Nicole Parker, Gregg Smith and Ricky Simpson; and back row, Kelvin Cunningham, Jimmy Kilgore, Jerry Gaither and Brian Muenger. Amy Hurst presented information on shaken baby syndrome. The grants from the Alabama Department of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention support programs at TCR Child Care Corporation, FIRST Family Services Center and Court Appointed Social Advocates.
